ship that characterizes the professionals at Cushman & Wakefield. This approach has contributed to my own growth and also helps to support the growth and con- tribution of my colleagues, while enhancing our ability to assist and grow the inter- ests of our clients. Who or what has been the strongest influence in your career? I have been extremely fortunate to have worked with many mentors, colleagues and clients. Each one has had a positive and lasting effect on my develop-

ment. I hope I’ve been able to assist them in a similar way. Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in, about your current posi- tion and why you choose the field/profession you are in today? I was a pre-law major in college, but upon graduation, I was uncertain about going to law school and was left to find a fulfilling career path. My fa- ther is an attorney, and I was ultimately driven to want to pursue that profession be- cause I wanted to negotiate and put together large trans- actions. A very close relative of mine is a real estate de- veloper and mentored me to think about a career in real estate since it would marry my desire to put together large transactions with my creativity and strong people skills. I landed an interview with Cushman & Wakefield in March of 2007 and the rest is history. I’m currently a senior director where I fo- cus on corporate real estate advisory services in North and Central New Jersey, nationally, and globally from the tenant side, and I work with selected landlords and developers on unique agency projects. What unique qualities and or personality traits do you feel makes you most successful in your profession? I am goal ori- ented and am able to connect with people and quickly build trust with them. I think that’s because I enjoy listening to people and understanding them and their needs, and then helping them to fulfill those needs. I have also always been very creative in approaching all aspects of my life and business is no exception. Every assignment I work on is unique with its own challenges, if you do not approach each situation with a creative process or mindset it is hard to achieve your client’s objectives and successfully consummate transactions. What challenges and or obstacles do you feel you needed to overcome to be- come as successful as you are today? I started in real es- tate during an unprecedented recession that was character- continued on page 32D
