The design incorporated an upper terrace which connects to ballrooms and a lower level covered outdoor venue. Not only did the addition provide much needed square footage, but allowed for great flow between the adjacent dining room. Once construction be- gan, it became evident that an interior design firm was needed to bring the project to fruition. A design firm with hospitality experience was crucial to the concept of this remodel, making DesignPoint Interior’s expertise in space planning and hospitality de- sign a perfect fit.
Given that most of the de- sign parameters were al- ready established prior to DesignPoint’s involvement, it was initially difficult to redirect the design. However, Designpoint was ultimately successful in selling the idea of an upscale dining venue to the club, inspired by the movement offered between the new addition. After providing concept plans and inspiration boards, the club agreed with DesignPoint’s assessment of a dynamic future within their new addition, reinvigorating their current members’ expe- rience, as well as attracting new and younger. The firm had made some necessary revisions to original plans to achieve this upscale aesthetic. One of these ele- ments is an upgrade of the original vinyl ceiling system design that was changed to a stylish coffered ceiling with exposed wood beams. The new ceiling plan added visual interest while dividing the long expanse of the space and accentuating its existing stone. These areas of divi- sion provide intimacy within the shared space, and allow comfort to members during off-peak times. As a result, the bar and dining rooms be- come visually connected, but hold independence by virtue of its beautiful millwork wall system. With the addition being too large for normal dining, DesignPoint devised a system coinciding with these degrees of privacy to create a separate dining room for large gather- ings. The space was divided with a custom wood and glass wall, accessible by grand slid- ing doors. This solution offers both amenities of private and public and can be used as dining overflow during busy periods. The transitive nature of this space, directly off the 18th green, provides an at- tractive option for groups of 25-50 without disturbing the private dining members. As for the interior ele- ments, DesignPoint drafted a lighting system with LED recessed cans, accented by decorative ceiling pendants and fans. All woodwork, in- terior doors, windows and ceiling beams were custom designed by Stofanak Mill- work in Bethlehem, PA and installed by the project con- tractor, Jerdon Construction continued on page 18B

grades to their dining and bar facilities were necessary. Initially, the club hired DJC Architects of Wayne, NJ to design an addition located to the rear of the clubhouse.
