sey awarded its 2018 Impact Award to Ironside Newark on Friday, recognizing the build- ing’s redevelopment as the commercial real estate proj- ect with the greatest positive impact on the northern New Jersey region this year. The award was announced during the 19th annual United Way Commercial Real Estate Network Legacy Luncheon, a fundraiser attended by a sold-out crowd of leading com- mercial real estate industry professionals with keynote speaker Trish O’Keefe, Ph.D. , president of Morris- town Medical Center. Chris Johnson , head coach of Hollister Construction Ser- vices, was also honored at the event as the recipient of the inaugural United Way Spirit Award. The award honors an individual from the commer- cial real estate industry whose actions reflect the values of United Way. Since 1999, the com- mercial real estate industry has helped to raise more than $2.7 million for United Way. “United Way is thankful for this industry’s enduring support and partnership in helping remove the barriers that keep ALICE and those in poverty from reaching their potential,” said United Way senior vice president for re- source development Theresa Leamy. “In addition, United Way congratulates the Iron- side team for its commitment to creating modern office and retail space that will not only advance Newark’s revitaliza- tion but also boost the regional economy.” The long vacant 1907 in- dustrial warehouse is being transformed into 456,000 s/f of modern, loft-style and pent- house offices across six floors, with another two floors of re- tail and restaurant space.
