The winner is then selected based upon six safety leader- ship criteria including: their commitment to safety, display of caring and respect for their fellow worker, and what they have done to go above and be- yond traditional safety efforts to ensure that their co-workers go home healthy and safe each day. Simpson was the judge’s unanimous winner. They were particularly impressed that Simpson had conducted and documented over 500 “Safety Snapshots” totaling more than 12,500 meaningful and impactful safety conversa- tions with employees to help keep them safe. Simpson was presented with the Safety Champion Award by Kevin Cannon and Nazia Shah of the Associated General Contractors of America .  ACE Mentor Program Gi an t Jenga Tournament Raises $30K for Scholarships PHILADELPHIA, PA — The ACE Mentor Pro- gram of Greater Philadel- phia, the local affiliate hosted 350+ members and friends of the design and construction community Thursday, 20 February 2020 at the Sime- one Foundation Automotive Museum for its Giant Jen- ga Tournament. The fourth annual event netted over $30,000 for the ACE Greater Philadelphia mentoring pro- gram and scholarships for current high school students and ACE alumni currently enrolled in higher education and focusing on an A-C-E (architecture, construction, or engineering) related career path. “This event is able to cross generational lines and bring together mentors, students, and friends from partner companies throughout the region,” said ACE executive director Tiffany Millner, AIA, NOMA . “Through com- petition and camaraderie, we demonstrated the strength and support of Philadelphia’s design and construction in- dustry while raising money to support the next generation of architects, engineers, and construction professionals.” 

(MBA) announced the 2019 Safety Champion Award win- ner, Bob Simpson , project superintendent, PJ Dick In- corporated . The award was presented at the thirteenth annual Construction Indus- try Evening of Excellence on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at the Heinz Field East Club. The event attracted nearly 1,400 construction industry professionals. The MBA Risk Manage-

ment Committee established the Safety Champion Award to recognize one individual, who is known within their company and the construction industry as a person who consistently practices the safety leadership skills needed to create a strong jobsite and organizational safety climate.
