“When we purchased the building, we knew that we would need to address exist- ing HVAC but it didn’t make sense to spend a lot of money for a temporary fix. Since go- ing green is important to us, Direct Install was very appeal- ing,” said McLaughlin. Through Direct Install, Hutchinson upgraded nine rooftop AC units and convert- ed all interior lighting to high efficient LED. “The space is a much more comfortable work environment and much bright- er, too,” said McLaughlin. “It was fantastic working with Hutchinson – they put

us on the forefront to meet our needs, worked around our schedule and didn’t disrupt our work place.” Ed Hutchinson is presi- dent of Hutchinson, a lead- ing energy/mechanical services contractor per- forming energy services, mechanical construction and retrofit installation work in the Greater Phila- delphia Tri-State Region. its current Cherry Hill loca- tion – doubling its square footage and enabling it to add commercial work in addition to its government contracts. This move required a fresh look at existing HVAC and lighting; the building was out- fitted with outdated and inef- ficient air conditioning units, along with fluorescent lighting dating back to the 1970s. “As a mission-focused non- profit, we’re looking for the most inexpensive and efficient way to light and cool our build- ing,” said Steve McLaughlin, VP of Finance and Operations, Bestwork.

ing contractor for Direct In- stall – offered through the NJ Office of Clean Energy - for its energy saving needs. Established in 1981, Best- work has manufactured items including military, traffic safety and construction cloth- ing. As the unemployment rate for people who are blind is at a staggering 70%, Bestwork strives to break down the bar- riers to employment and em- power people through training and technology. In meeting its mission of putting more people to work, Bestwork required additional facility space and moved into approximately 450 housing units are being processed. Residential real estate ex- perts indicate that we are ex- periencing a seller’s market for housing throughout the county. Inventory levels are way down and well-priced homes in good condition will receive multiple offers the first day on market. Leasing and sales activity for commercial real estate has been very good. Most properties that we own, lease and or manage are doing well with industrial/ flex product at nearly full occupancy and most office product in the 90% occupancy range. Less than a year ago, we had a 100,000 s/f building at Little Falls Center vacated by a long term tenant. Today that same building is 75% occupied with strong inter- est in the remaining space. Renovations at the two Class A office buildings at Little Falls off Centerville Road are nearing completion and include a new café, fitness center, conference rooms, lobby and more. David R.
