Healthy: Fall 2022

WAITLIST All efforts are made to enroll students off the waitlist if availability exists. Communication from the Aquatics Program Coordinator will occur during the first week of the session. No proration of fees are provided after the start of the class. LOW ENROLLMENT We reserve the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment. All efforts are made to enroll the student into another class within the same session. However, if no availability exists, a full refund is issued. OBSERVING LESSONS If you find your child continually trying to interact with you during their class, we encourage you to move out of the immediate area so that their attention remains focused on their instructor. Family members may observe swim lessons from the observation deck located off the track. ADAPTIVE SWIM LESSONS Adaptive aquatics classes are geared for children with special needs between 3-14 years of age. This program is designed to give individuals an opportunity to experience the benefits of aquatics and prepare for the possibility of progressing into our American Red Cross swim lesson program. With the assistance of aquatics staff, participants will work on their swimming abilities and comfort level in the water. These classes are taught in a non-competitive environment, allowing each child to progress at their own pace. All participants must be accompanied in the water by a parent or caregiver. For more information or to register, please contact Amy McCarter at 614.410.4597 or amccarter@dublin.oh.us. CLASS DESCRIPTIONS Complete descriptions are available at DublinOhioUSA.gov/aquatics/swim-lessons/

New Swimmer Evaluations The Sea Dragons have minimum qualifications to participate in the program. If this is your first time joining the team, you are required to come to an evaluation at the DCRC or obtain an accepted reference from your prior team coach. At the evaluations, the coach determines if each swimmer is ready for swim team or if they need more personal and fundamental attention through either swim lessons or the youth fitness swimming class. Swimmers are able to “re-evaluate” if needed. References from prior coaches may be communicated to Lynn Bowers at lynnbowers86@gmail.com. Register for an evaluation today through the Sea Dragon website at dublinseadragons.org. When signing up for an appointment please include: • Prior swim experience • USA Swimming ID# if you are coming from another USA Swimming club • Age of the swimmer • Gender of the swimmer This information is used to help place the swimmer properly upon evaluation. Completing an evaluation DOES NOT save your swimmer a seat in the Sea Dragons program. Team Registration & Team Fees Registration begins Monday, August 8 at 7pm for returning swimmers and begins Monday, August 15 at 7pm for new swimmers who have passed their evaluations. • Returning Swimmers: Swimmers currently registered/swimming with Dublin Community Swim Team (DCST) for the 2022 Long Course season and/or 2021-2022 Short Course season. • Siblings of Returning Swimmers: Siblings of swimmers that are currently registered with DCST for the 2022 Long Course season or were registered for 2021-2022 Short Course season may also register for 2022-2023 Short Course season during returning swimmers registration.
