PROFESSOR DEREK CHADEE PRO VICE-CHANCELLOR FOR THE UWI BOARD FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES

PROFESSOR ALDRIE HENRY-LEE PRO VICE-CHANCELLOR, GRADUATE STUDIES AND RESEARCH

As Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Derek Chadee oversees the Office of the Board for Undergraduate Studies (OBUS) which is charged with responsibility for policy, quality, and regionalism in developing and coordinating policy initiatives to guide all aspects of undergraduate and sub-degree programming at The UWI and its regional and global affiliates. Professor Aldrie Henry-Lee was confirmed as Pro Vice-Chancellor, Graduate Studies and Research effective August 1, 2022. She succeeded Professor Rose-Marie Belle Antoine, who took up the role of Principal of the St. Augustine Campus. Professor Henry-Lee oversees

the University’s policy and operational plans for development and regulation, including administration of the Board, funding, monitoring and evaluation of graduate education and research, and the implementation of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship agenda. She joined The UWI in 1995 and became Director of SALISES at Mona Campus in 2016. She made history as the first female University Director of the Institute. She is also the ‘One UWI’ Gender Equity and Justice Coordinator. She was the recipient of the 2019/2020 Vice-Chancellor’s Award for All-round Excellence and a Principal’s Distinguished Researcher Award in 2003 from The UWI Mona Campus.

Scholar, joined the St. Augustine Campus in 1995 as an Assistant Lecturer. He was awarded tenure in 2002 and was promoted to Professor of Social Psychology in 2013. His high standards in research, publications, teaching, and research collaboration have been evident throughout his career, and his robust research agenda has focused on the psychology of fear of crime. He has published more than 70 books, journal articles and book chapters, and currently serves on the Mediation Board of Trinidad and Tobago. His three-year appointment took effect on August 1, 2023.
