ATHLETICS 2023 CHRIS SEWELL

The Dulwich athletes enjoyed a hugely successful season last summer with a large number of boys regularly out training after school, some new competitive fixtures and many achieving excellent times and distances. The season got underway with the Indoor Simmonds Cup competition held at Lee Valley. After a long winter break, the teams were ready and eager to take to the track. Everyone involved put in tremendous performances, but

special mention must go to the Year 7 team who, in their first outing for the College, sealed first place in their com- petition, helping the Dulwich team to a first place overall finish. Well done to the Year 7 team– Deji Ayorinde, Noah Flemyng, James Flynn, Cosmo Maguire, Aiden Smyth and Leo Spencer. The athletes continued their success from these meets through to the opening round of the Track and Field Cup. Both Junior and Inters teams performed well on the track and in the field, with the Junior team finishing second on 392 points and the Intermediate team securing first place with 447 points. These strong performances in the county stage of the competition saw the two teams progress to the regional finals, held this year at Watford Arena. Once again, the boys performed fantastically, with both teams bettering their scores posted in the first round of the com- petition. The Junior Boys posted a score of 400 points, earning them a sixth-place finish, and the Intermediate Boys scored 466, seeing them finish in seventh place. All
