athletes made the top 10, with Oscar Kinirons in fifth, Alex Jack in eighth, and Charlie Wood in ninth. From these London results we were delighted to have five DC athletes selected for the London team to compete in Pontefract at the English Schools Cross Country Champi- onships 2024, namely Caspian Holmes (Junior Boys), Alex and Warren Wilson (Intermediate Boys), Oscar Kinirons and Alex Jack (Senior Boys). We also had three athletes on the reserves lists ready to go if called up; congratula- tions to Raphael Lerner (Year 10), Charlie Wood (Year 13) and Matthieu Ladure (Year 10). ENGLISH SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS In Pontefract, Dulwich College was the school with the most representatives in the London team out of all the schools across London. One of the standout successes was Caspian Holmes, who was the highest finisher out of the Junior Boys, scoring seventh, helping the team to finish third overall. As part of this, Caspian qualified for the England team to compete internationally in Dublin. Al- though there were no other qualifications, Alex and War- ren Wilson finished 172nd and 283rd respectively, helping the London team score fifteenth in the Intermediate Boys, whilst Oscar Kinirons and Alex Jack placed 145th and 152nd, helping the Senior Boys finish twelfth overall. It was Alex and Oscar’s final competition on behalf of the College at National Finals. Please bear in mind that each race field is over 300 strong! OTHER HIGHLIGHTS Caspian Holmes competed for England at the SIAB International Cross Country Championships in Dublin in March, and won team gold with the Junior Boys team. Well done to Henry Kucerov (Year 7), Caspian Holmes and Jack McLennan (Year 10) and Alex Jack who all raced for Herne Hill Harriers in Mansfield for XC relay nationals. The conditions were incredibly muddy and wet so we were especially proud of them for toughing it out! Congratulations to two of our Year 13 athletes, Alex Jack and Charlie Wood, who had fantastic runs at the London Winter Run 10k, which encompasses all age categories. Alex came 34th out of 17,782 with a time of 33.44 and Charlie came 61st with 35.11 – solid personal bests from both. ◉
FENCING MAX LYON DONEGAN
Dulwich College enjoyed another successful year on the pistes. An outstanding training programme led by our coach, Marco, helped our fencers to reach new heights at both individual and team levels. A host of friendly fixtures and competitive training ses- sions throughout the first two terms helped the boys to prepare for the biggest competition on the fencing cal- endar, the Public Schools’ Fencing Championships, held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre. Day one saw Ethan Hui and Enoch Yiu compete in the Boys’ Senior Foil, finishing twenty-eighth and fifty-eighth respectively from over 100 competitors. Ernesto Chiappini competed in the Boys’ Junior Epee, placing ninth after a string of outstanding performances. Day two saw Adrian Wong take part in the Boys’ Junior Foil, conceding only six points throughout his two pools and defeating one of his opponents 15–0 in an elimination match on his way to the semi-finals, where he was nar- rowly defeated and took home a bronze medal. Lorenzo Roselli and Sameer Sunder-Rajan competed in the Boys’ Senior Epee. Lorenzo finished a very respectable twen-
