positive performances at Quintin Head in January, with the Seniors boating two matched ability VIIIs in the top 15 of Junior VIIIs with two matched boats from the Year 10s both finishing in the top 13 crews in their category. In March, Dulwich College Boat Club had four crews rac- ing the Championship course on the Tideway. The 1st VIII secured tenth in Champ VIIIs and twelfth overall – these are both boat club records for the quickest time an VIII has gone over the historic race. The 2nd VIII continued a hugely positive season with a thirteenth position. The 3rd VIII finished fifth with a number of Year 11 rowers on board, whilst the J16 VIII finished sixteenth in a very strong field. On the same day, the Year 10 rowers had an outstand- ing event at Dorney Lake, with the J15 A boat finishing seventh and the J15 B boat finishing fifth. Two days later it was the turn of the Year 9 rowers, whose exciting perfor- mances led to the J14 A boat finishing sixteenth, and the J14 B boat finishing sixth in their event. This was the first race for many of the rowers, and a fantastic experience for them ahead of the summer regatta season. Attention now turns to the National Schools Regatta at the end of May and Henley Royal Regatta at the beginning of July, which will be reported on in next year’s Alleynian .

In addition, Captain of Boats Matteo Hanna-Amodio (Year 13), Alex Craig (Year 12), August Blain (Year 12) and Rahul Ramakrishnan (Year 13) represent Dulwich College through the GB Rowing national trials process. Congratulations to all the pupils who represent the College so well – from those who have picked up an oar for the first time, to those racing at national and interna- tional levels. Finally, thank you to the coaching team who support the rowers throughout the season and who, with their positive attitude, provide the students with such an excellent experience.
