STRING COMPETITION RESULTS CLASS 1 (BEGINNER TO GRADE 2)

PERCUSSION CONCERT PERKYNS HO (YEAR 11)

The percussion concert was a great success, and the audience was amazed at the incredible talent and energy of the performers. The stage was filled with a variety of percussion instruments including drums, xylophones and marimbas, which were played with precision and artistry. The performers played together flawlessly, creating a mesmerizing rhythm that filled the auditorium. The audi- ence was captivated by the different sounds and textures of the music, which ranged from fast and upbeat to slow and contemplative. The dynamic stage presence of the percussionists kept the audience engaged throughout the entire performance. At the end of the concert, the audi- ence showed their appreciation with thunderous applause for the talented performers. STRING COMPETITION LESLEY LARKUM, HEAD OF STRINGS The College’s twelfth String Competition took place in the Old Library in early December, with 39 string players, ranging in age from Year 5 to Year 13, taking part in seven classes, from beginner to advanced. The adjudica- tor, violinist David Juritz, gave positive and helpful feedback to each and every player throughout the course of the day. The whole event was both instructive and a testament to the high level of music-making at Dulwich College. Heartfelt thanks to Cl í odna Shanahan, Head of Keyboard, who accompanied all the boys for the competition from beginner to advanced, with expert skill and musicianship. Congratulations to all those who won prizes or were awarded Highly Commended. Congratula- tions, too, to everyone who took part. It was a joyful and lovely event from start to finish.
