Introduction to Drawing and Acrylic Painting

Drawing and Acrylic Painting Develop your artistic skills by using an easy, structured approach to drawing and painting. Through observation, you will create depth, understand positive and negative shapes, and learn proportion by painting from still life and reference photos. This course is ideal for advanced beginners or intermediate students who want to improve their painting skills in a fun, supportive atmosphere. See materials list on website. Learn to view the world as an artist does in this easy, structured approach. Acquire new drawing and painting skills and take your work to the next level. Through observation, learn line, shape, value, composition and color by painting from still life and reference photos. Class is ideal for beginner and intermediate students who want to learn the fundamentals of painting in acrylic in a relaxing atmosphere. See materials list on website. AMANDA WILSON holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and an MAT in Art Education from Manhattanville College. Her illustrations have appeared in Adweek, the Atlantic Monthly, New York Magazine, the New Yorker, and on numerous book jackets. Wilson has exhibited at the Edward Hopper House Museum and Study Center, American Institute of Graphic Arts,Society of Illustrators, and the Society of Publication Designers. Color Pencil Drawing and Painting Colored pencils are the perfect medium to draw the vibrant colors of spring. Use brilliant pinks, majestic purples, and vivid greens in every hue to illustrate flowers, fruits, animals, and all that nature has to offer. Learn to draw natural subjects with colored pencil through line, texture, and tones. Easy-to-draw shapes are the elements that comprise the mosaic of the natural world with highlights and shadows. Blend and layer to achieve a frame worthy work of art depicting spring’s stunning offerings. All skill levels are welcome. See materials list on website. EDWARD GRIGG attended the High School of Art & Design in NYC, graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a BFA Degree in Graphic Design, and spent 25 years offering his unique graphic design creativity to advertising agencies in NYC. He has worked with major companies such as Colgate, Welch’s, Advil, and many other consumer goods companies, creating dazzling multimedia campaigns, branding websites, and designing logos.
