T he Northern Territory (NT) has an abundance of natural attractions, iconic landscapes, an ancient Aboriginal culture more than 65,000- years-old and an enviable climate ideal for outdoor events in uncrowded destinations combined with inspiring nature‐based experiences. The lush tropical northern region includes the capital city of Darwin, whilst further south, the spectacular desert country delivers destinations such as the quintessential outback town of Alice Springs and World Heritage‐listed Uluru Kata‐Tjuta National Park. Northern Territory Business Events (NTBE), the official convention bureau for the NT, partners with a highly cohesive local industry. It comprises accommodation, function and experience suppliers, and has direct access to a network of supportive Government agencies. Director of NT Business Events Rebecca McCaig says: “We’re confident incentive planners can facilitate profound connections for their attendees with NT people and places. The NT’s exciting and inspiring experiences not only deliver excellent business outcomes but leave a lasting legacy and our industry partners consistently go above and beyond to exceed expectations.” A recent incentive familiarisation trip

enabled a group of planners to gain first‐ hand experience of the NT’s incentive offerings. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. “It’s unlike any other destination and is often a place our guests haven’t visited before, which is difficult to achieve for a very well‐travelled group,” said Sarah‐ Jane Padget, event manager with Directions Conference and Incentive Management. “The NT provides something that’s out of the ordinary and unlike any other experience on offer in Australia.”
