Taking responsibility

Organisations must take responsibility for ensuring compliance with relevant laws, but they also need to demonstrate effectively that they are doing so.

Areas that are likely to require attention in terms of accountability include:

Leadership and oversight. Policies and procedures. Training and awareness.

Governance around the use of AI is vital.

You cannot just delegate the management of all risks arising from the use of AI to developers or the IT department. Accountability is something that must be embedded from Board level downwards.
