ANSAAwards for UWI Academics One of the region’s leading awards recognising excellence in all fields of endeavour is the Anthony Sabga Caribbean Awards for Excellence (ANSCAFE). Among the distinguished laureates in 2020 for Science and Technology and Public and Civic contributions, respectively were two female academics at The UWI.
Dr. Shirin Haque , astronomer, a senior lecturer, former Deputy Dean and former Head of the Department of Physics, St. Augustine Campus – Science and Technology.
Dr. Olivene Burke , social scientist and Executive Director of the Mona Social Service (MSS) organisation – Public and Civic Contributions.
