mistakes and good play from Hampton meant that DC could not find any attacking rhythm, and despite a long- range individual try from Jasper Richardson, Hampton won the game 14–7 and ended Dulwich’s cup hopes. St Joseph’s Festival was again one of the most enjoyable experiences of the season, with victories against Eltham, Whitchurch and Hurstpierpoint, and a draw against Hampton resulting in a seventh-place finish. The highlight was Zach Carr winning ‘Try of The Tournament’, although most of the legwork was put in by Jago McGuinness-Smith and Harry Harris. Watch for yourselves on the following link: https://twitter. com/willrobertsport/status/1449438057434865666 Zach, our 1st XV captain, continued to excel throughout a season in which he also played regularly for Harlequins Academy, made his full England U18 debut at number 8 against Italy, and then played in their undefeated Six Nations campaign in Paris. We are all proud of his immense progress during his time at Dulwich since the Junior School, and he serves as great inspiration for all of our younger players if they commit and work hard in their rugby. The boys played hard for the rest of their last season at Dulwich; Jasper Richardson and Iago Saunders crowned their excellent individual efforts by winning the ‘Players’ player of the year’ and ‘Player of the season’ awards respectively. Both awards were well deserved by two players who trained consistently, were willing to learn and would do anything for the team, in true Dulwich fashion. All of the boys, from the 1st XV to the 12G teams, have learned this season what it means to wear the black and blue jersey and to represent their school and teammates. They will all have experienced elation in victory, and at times the bitter disappointment that can come with defeat. Regardless, we hope that all boys also experienced the personal pride and satisfaction that comes from committing fully, competing their hardest and cooperating with their coaches and teammates through thick and thin. A huge thank you must go to all of the staff from across the Common Room who commit to coaching teams in co-curricular sessions and on Saturday fixtures. The boys simply could not play and progress without their consistent support, and the fact that we have fielded 32 senior teams this year speaks to the rude health that Dulwich Rugby is in, with boys of all ages and abilities accessing a proud part of Dulwich history. Long may it continue.
