Progressive Lesson Registration Lessons in gymnastics, trampoline, swimming, and skating require activity outcome results (i.e. ready/not ready assessment) prior to registration in the next level. Check your levels online under “Activity Outcomes” in your online client record at newwestcity.ca/register . If your last lesson set was prior to 2021, please call the lesson facility for more information on your correct level, or for assistance with activity outcomes. GYMNASTICS & TRAMPOLINE Participants may register for multiple lessons of the same level per session. Participants can only advance to the next level if the prerequisites are met and entered into their Activity Outcomes. If you are currently enrolled in a lesson set, Activity Outcomes will be posted after your eighth lesson, or one week before the next lesson registration date. SWIMMING & SKATING Participants may only register for one lesson set at a time to ensure level prerequisites are met. Participants currently enrolled in a lesson set may not be on a waitlist for a later set. Participants who register in more than one lesson set will be withdrawn by staff, with the refund policy in effect. If you are currently enrolled in a lesson set, your Activity Outcomes will be posted after the second to last day of your lesson set. If you need a level assessment, please request an evaluation from staff during a drop-in session. Caregiver Participation Where listed, a caregiver 15+ years must accompany participants and partake in the program.

Parks and Recreation works with community partners to match funding, staff or volunteers to help customers that need support to participate in our services. Deep & Shallow Aquafit & Aqua Zumba (15+ years) Improve cardio and strength in low to zero impact shallow or deep water exercise. Shallow Aqua Zumba includes upbeat music and offers a high-energy, low-impact workout. Floatation belts are provided for deep water classes. Youth 13 - 14 years may participate if accompanied by an adult 19+ years who is also participating in the class. Pool Etiquette • Everyone must shower with soap before entering the water. • Showers are available on-deck and in all change areas. Soap is provided. Learn more at newwestcity.ca/keep-it-fresh • No food is permitted in the pool or change area. • No outside shoes are permitted on the pool deck. • Strollers are permitted in universal change area or in the viewing area, accessible from the lobby. • Children 6 years and under must be accompanied in the water by a capable swimmer 15+ years. Maximum two children per caregiver. Out-of-water supervision of participants is permitted at no cost for children 7+ years. • 3 metre diving board and 5 metre diving platform users must be 7+ years. 1 metre diving board uses 6 years and under must have a caregiver in the water. • Lanes are for length swimming and water running only. Share lanes with other participants, swimming at a similar pace. • Adult hot tub, steam room, and sauna users must be 15+ years.

Water Running Clinic (15+ years) Improve cardio and strength in low to zero impact shallow or deep water exercise. Learn to deep water run and increase muscle endurance while spicing up your cardio workouts. No shoes required! Floatation belts are provided and all experience levels are welcome. Youth 13 - 14 years may participate if accompanied by an adult 19+ years who is also participating in the class. All abilities are welcome.

Cycle & Strength Combines indoor cycling with body conditioning and core training exercises, using dumbbells and tubing. Cycle Party A high energy indoor cycling workout with fun music and weekly themes, finished with a deep stretch. Indoor Cycling • Register online at newwestcity.ca/indoor-cycling or call any Parks and Recreation facility • Registration opens 72 hours in advance for New Westminster residents and 48 hours in advance for everyone. • Arrive 15 minutes early to check-in at the front desk. No class admittance once the class has started. • Cancellation requires 24 hour notice. • No-shows will be tracked and failure to cancel may result in revoked privileges. Dance Party Full-body, no-equipment cardio workout set to throwback R&B songs, Afrobeats, Bollywood, and Hip Hop. Flow Yoga Engage in a continuous flow of poses with dynamic, rhythmic, and fluid movements. Gentle Yoga & Meditation Move through gentle, easy-on-your-body, yoga poses, followed by a guided meditation. Suitable for beginners and seniors. Hatha Yoga, Hatha & Yin Yoga, Yoga & Core Postures and stretches with breath work to encourage alignment, improve balance, increase strength and help calm the mind and body. Yin Yoga includes longer held postures with focus on deepening flexibility. Hip Hop Fitness Heighten energy with Hip Hop choreography, fitness, and fun. HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training Maximize endorphin levels in a total-body, cardio and strength workout with each intense interval followed by a recovery interval. Use of different equipment such as dumbbells. All fitness levels welcome. Interval Training Alternate cardio and strength interval drills to improve strength and endurance. Followed by a relaxing stretch. Iyengar Yoga Learn basic actions in asanas, develop strength, flexibility, awareness and confidence. For beginners and seasoned students seeking to focus on fundamentals. Props are optional if brought.

Caregivers and preschoolers share the joy of skating. Extra toys and equipment are available as well as the snow box! Lap skating is not available during this session. Public Skate (All Ages) Enjoy skating with friends and family of all ages. Staff are on site to assist with skating aids as well as give tips to new skaters. Hockey sticks and figure skating are not permitted at this session. Queen's Park Arena Public Skates are not staffed and do not have rentals available. Adult Skate (18+ years) Add skating to your fitness schedule. Enjoy lap skating with friends. Hockey sticks and figure skating are not permitted during this session. Family Skate (All Ages) Solely for family fun! Arena staff ensure families have a great time with free skating and organized games. An adult must accompany all children during the session. 50+ Skate Register to enjoy lap skating. Limited spots are available. Hockey sticks and figure skating are not permitted at this session. Figure Skating (All ages) Practice figure skating on open ice. Space is limited, registration is required. No personal music will be permitted.
