Saturday Art Club Sandy Kao This is a perfect experience for those interested in art and exploring their artistic abilities! Through various projects, young artists develop a basic understanding of drawing, watercolor and acrylic painting. The program provides step-by-step instructions to ensure that all participants create a successful piece of artwork. Each class covers separate topics and offers new projects. Barbara Ray Take part in the exciting Fall Nature Education Series, led by Barbara Ray, our dedicated Nature Education Coordinator. This season, immerse yourself and your family in the wonders of nature with various engaging and educational programs designed to foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world. From exploring the banks of the Scioto River to getting hands-on with soil samples and meeting woodland creatures, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and learn from this fall. Parent participation is required.

This is the perfect class for a new or novice player looking to increase confidence in their game. In the first half of each class, world champion openings, ideas in the middle game, endgame patterns, tactical motifs and elements are examined and discussed. For the remainder of the class, students can play against one another in our weekly club tournament.

Ages: 6-12 Make it & Take it: Kids love our “Make it and Take it” session, where they can choose their own table-top-sized pots and select 3-4 plants to plant in them. After decorating their pots and adding garden decorations, they’ll create their own mini-garden to nurture and enjoy at home. Participants engage in activities at the river’s edge, learning about its ecosystem, wildlife, and the importance of water conservation in our community. Meet live woodland animals and discover the critical role of clean soil and the importance of leaving fallen trees in their natural habitat.
