Could You Hug a Cactus? is a virtual musical written to be rehearsed remotely, performed virtually, and shared with audiences online. The storyline is linear, made up of monologues and songs intended to be performed as solos. Based on a collection of whimsical poems by Phillip Van Wagoner, this musical revue follows a group of kids as they come together to create a show that’s bursting with poems and creativity. Work side by side with your child and learn basic hand-building and glazing techniques. Each class includes a demonstration followed by the opportunity for hands-on practice with additional assistance available. Fee is per child participant. All attendees, regardless of age, must register for contact tracing and due to a reduced capacity. No outside work or materials permitted in this program. This projects-based class is designed to expand on the knowledge gained from Ceramics 1 , and includes an opportunity to learn wheel-throwing ceramic techniques. All supplies and materials are included in the fee. No outside ceramic work or materials permitted in this program. Archaeology, Can You Dig? it is an outreach program aimed at school- aged children and young adults. Through a variety of hands-on STEM activities, participants engage in excavation projects to determine an artifact’s age, learn how to determine where and why to mark and measure an excavation plot, and much more.
