Romie Crist Hand building is a ceramics technique that allows you to create forms with clay and your hands, without using a pottery wheel. Participants create four ceramic pieces utilizing the basic hand building techniques of pinch, coil and slab. Instruction on decoration, glazing and kiln firing also included. Learn to throw clay on the wheel, with instruction on centering, pulling and shaping to create three vessel pieces: cylinder, bowl and cup.
