This course follows the strict guidelines of the American Red Cross. Our instructors are required to follow these guidelines at all times. This class is taught as a blended learning course, which means that the participant completes part of the course prior to attending the first day of class. A link to the online portion of the class is emailed one week prior to class and the estimated completion time is three hours. Proof of completion of the online course must be turned in to Amy McCarter (amccarter@dublin.oh.us) no later than the first day of class. The purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers course is to teach those with a duty to act (professional rescuers and health care providers) the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim experiencing cardiac arrest. This course also teaches skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.
