Bois Fumé (Buh-wa Few-may) is a new DUCHATEAU Signature color. Bois Fumé is a warm mid tone natural brown shade. Smoked wood, or bois fumé in French, is a time-honored tradition of treating wood to bring out the natural darkened tones, changing the wood’s tannins in the process. It also makes the appearance more luminous, casting a glow from within that is impossible to replicate using heavy surface stains. A light wire-brushing is used to subtly bring out the grain and create an ultra-matte non-reflective surface.
Origine (Ora-jheen) is a new DUCHATEAU Signature color. Origine means “original” in French, and this European oak floor has the appearance of freshly sawn wood, untouched by heavy stains or treatments that would obscure the natural grain. Capturing this raw quality is actually a multi-step process to prepare and treat the wood so that the look retains the perfect natural European oak color.
