SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS AND OPERATIONS The mission of The Henry County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit is to safeguard our community by relentlessly pursuing and arresting high-level criminal offenders. Committed to excellence, integrity, and collaboration, our specialized team conducts covert operations, intelligence-driven investigations, and targeted actions to disrupt and eradicate violent crime, narcotics trafficking, gang activities, and other serious criminal threats. CANINE (K-9) UNIT
FUGITIVE, GANGS & NARCOTICS
The mission of the K-9 Unit is to enhance public safety through the skilled deployment of highly trained canine partners. Our K9 Unit plays a pivotal role in search and rescue, narcotics detection, apprehension of suspects, and community engagement. Through rigorous training, compassionate care for our four-legged partners, and collaborative efforts with our community, we aim to deter criminal activity, provide swift and effective responses to emergencies, and build positive relationships between law enforcement and the residents we proudly serve. The Aviation Unit is a specialized unit that utilizes aerial support and enhanced law enforcement capabilities to support the HCSO crime fighting efforts. This unit plays a crucial role in public safety, crime prevention, and emergency response. The aviation unit is capable of surveillance and patrol, search and rescue, emergency response, traffic control and monitoring, and community engagement. The unit works in concert with local partners to maintain a safer Henry County. AVIATION UNIT Law enforcement motorcycles provide various specialized capabilities, from traffic management to rapid response and escort details. Community engagement is a key objective of our Motor Unit, as it participates in public events, parades, and educational programs. Through ongoing training and skill development, the Motor Unit ensures its officers are well-prepared to handle a variety of situations. MOTOR UNIT
The Fugitive, Gang, and Narcotics Unit is dedicated to addressing and mitigating criminal threats posed by fugitives, gangs, and narcotics within our community. Our primary objective is to identify and apprehend individuals involved in illegal criminal activities. Through targeted investigations and strategic operations, we work to dismantle drug-trafficking networks to prevent the spread of drug addiction. Additionally, the unit gathers intelligence and collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to develop comprehensive strategies for apprehending fugitives. The unit strives to establish partnerships with residents, schools, and local organizations to raise awareness about the dangers of gang involvement, drug abuse, and to encourage cooperation in reporting criminal activities. Through a combination of intelligence-led policing, community collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to justice, the Fugitive, Gang, and Narcotics Unit endeavors to create a safer and more secure environment for all members of the community. Dedicated to the effective execution of warrants, the Warrant Unit’s primary goals and objectives include the apprehension of individuals with outstanding warrants, addressing fugitive cases promptly, and bringing those responsible for criminal activities to justice. We strive to maintain a fair and just approach in executing warrants, respecting the rights of individuals while diligently pursuing those who evade the legal system. Additionally, our efforts focus on collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, utilizing modern investigative techniques, and fostering community partnerships to create a safer and more secure environment for all residents.
