SNOW REMOVAL

The City has a curb-to-curb snow removal policy. All public streets within Dublin receive snow removal service according to the following

priorities: Priority 1

Major arteries are plowed first. These streets will continue to receive treatment as long as weather conditions continue. Blowing snow and freezing roads once the snow has thawed can require continued

treatment. Priority 2

Main roads through subdivisions, streets connecting two or more priority 1 streets. These streets will be plowed and salted once priority 1 streets have received treatment. Priority 3 Residential streets, courts, cul-de-sacs and alleys will be serviced once priority 1 and priority 2 streets are cleared. Not treated by City of Dublin Private residential and commercial streets, as well as streets in other jurisdictions. Follow the snow removal process in real time using the SnowGo dashboard! Search the map by address to check recent activity and track which snow plows are in your neighborhood by name. SNOW WHAT FUN — USE SNOWGO! ICE DAM SAFETY Residents must keep their sidewalks, curbs and gutters free of snow, ice, debris and obstructions. Depositing snow or ice on any public sidewalk, street, bike path, road or highway is prohibited. In freezing weather, basement sump pumps that outlet to the curb can create ice dams near mailboxes, driveways, etc. These can cause a safety concern for many residents. Property owners are responsible for their own sump pump maintenance. The section of the Dublin City Code that covers this responsibility is Building Code Section 150.040. Grading and Draining Building Lots (G) Foundation sump pump drains are to be connected to an appropriate drainage outlet (such as the street, storm sewer or other outlet) to the satisfaction of the Municipal Engineer. How you can prevent ice dams: • Break up the ice in the curb line with shovels and salt. • Disconnect the sump pump cap at the house’s exterior wall, allowing the water to discharge into your lawn temporarily. • Relocate the connection from the curb line to the curb and gutter inlets, catch basins, maintenance holes, rivers, ditches, streams, channels, detention ponds, retention ponds, etc. • Request City of Dublin Street & Utilities Staff spread salt in the curb area.

How you can help: • Do not shovel or plow snow into City streets. • Do not shovel or plow snow into driveway aprons. • Do not shovel or plow snow around fire hydrants or mailboxes.

• Keep your distance from the snow plows. • Keep children away from snow plows. • Remove parked cars from the street. • Do not attempt to pass a snow plow.

Notice: The connection relocation cost is the responsibility of the property owner. This relocation work needs to be coordinated with City of Dublin Engineering Staff, as this work involves a permitting process. Sat service will be provided during the first winter season of notification. After that, the resident must take the steps outlined above to remedy the condition created by their sump pump drain before the next winter season.
