Let's Talk Current Events: Topics in the News Engage in stimulating conversation with a group of curious, well-informed and friendly news junkies. Meet each week to discuss a variety of challenging topics, including popular culture, politics, media issues and other items in the news — at the local, national and international levels. Bring your observations and an open mind to facilitated round-table discussions.
EDWARD GINSBERG has been teaching history for over a half century, most recently at Marist College and SUNY Dutchess. He also served as Director of Human Rights Education for the New York State Education Department in the late 1970s. He currently participates in the Westchester County Climate Crisis Task Force. Moral Dilemmas, Case Studies in Justice, Ethics, and Morality Modeled after Harvard political theorist Michael Sandel's famous Socratic course and companion book, Justice: What's the Right Thing to Do? , this discussion class will tackle a different moral dilemma each session and examine all angles of complex real world scenarios in which the answers are not clear and decisions have dramatic consequences. Class will discuss new cases each week without repeating any of the scenarios covered in previous terms.
