This introductory course will demystify mindfulness meditation, familiarize students with the basics, and teach basic meditation practices to cultivate mindfulness around the body, emotions, and thought. Students will practice during class, have opportunities for Q&A, and take home practical tips on how to integrate a mindfulness practice into daily life. Through gentle yoga postures adapted for all levels, learn to move with intention and awareness to improve body coordination and reduce physical tension. Incorporate breathwork exercises to explore how conscious breathing can regulate the nervous system and enhance emotional well-being. Guided meditations introduce you to practices that cultivate present-moment awareness and foster a sense of calm clarity. JENNIFER MONNESS has been a mindfulness meditation facilitator for over 25 years, tailoring programs for those with stressful and pressure-filled careers and for older adults interested in learning how to improve focus and productivity, and increase emotional resilience. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989, entered the public sector, and was introduced to the study of yoga and meditation while working toward a graduate degree in special education. Monness then began leading workshops in small businesses and large corporations, sharing the benefits of regular meditation practice and simple ways to integrate the practice into one’s life. 4 Sessions, starting Monday, June 3 • 9:30am-10:30am • Zoom • Course 12619 • $100
