MOSQUITO MANAGEMENT April showers bring May flowers … and sometimes mosquitoes! The City of Dublin partners with Franklin County Public Health (FCPH) to operate a multi-faceted Integrated Mosquito Control and Management Program. It includes larvae and pupae control, storm drain and catch basin treatments, mosquito surveillance, spraying, record keeping and data analysis.
FCPH determines when spraying is necessary based on several factors, including the presence of West Nile Virus and trap count numbers. All spraying is conducted in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. Residents who wish for their property to remain unsprayed may sign up for the Do Not Spray registry. Fill out the form and find more information on Dublin’s Mosquito Management Program at DublinOhioUSA.gov/city-services/mosquito-program. Keep these tips handy all summer: • Empty, cover or turn over any container that has the potential to hold water • Repair leaky pipes and outside faucets • Free gutters of blockages • Change the water in wading pools weekly and store indoors when not in use • Empty planters that hold water twice each week • Empty bird baths twice weekly • Empty your pets’ watering dishes daily • Dispose of old tires
