SWIM ASSESSMENTS/TRANSFERRING LEVELS Uncertain of the correct level to enroll yourself or your child? Try our online assessment tool at DublinOhioUSA.gov/recreation-services/ aquatics/lessons/ or schedule an in-water assessment with our Aquatics Program Coordinator Sidney Zarate Sanchez at 614.410.4597 or szaratesanchez@dublin.oh.us. Upon the first class, instructors will confirm participants are at the proper level. Should the participant need to transfer to another level, availability within the current session is not guaranteed and a partial refund will be issued if other sections are unavailable. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY During inclement weather, the DCRC facilities maintain normal operating hours unless directed otherwise by the City Manager. In general, DCRC class/activity schedules coincide with Dublin City Schools. Whenever schools are released early for inclement weather, all evening classes at the DCRC are cancelled. When school is cancelled, all daytime DCRC classes are cancelled, and a decision regarding evening classes (those after 4 p.m.) is made by 2 p.m. Please call the weather hotline at 614.410.4946, to find out about weekend or evening classes. All attempts are made to make up missed classes. WAITLIST All efforts are made to enroll students off the waitlist if availability exists. Participants are contacted by the Aquatics Program Coordinator during the first week of the session. No proration is provided after the start of the class. LOW ENROLLMENT We reserve the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment. All efforts are made to transfer the student into another class within the same session. However, if no availability exists, a full refund is issued. OBSERVING LESSONS In order to provide the best learning environment, we suggest that family members observe swim lessons from the observation deck located off the upper-level track. This allows for less distractions for students and provides a more comfortable environment for spectators. If you find your child continually trying to interact with you during their class, we encourage you to move out of the immediate area so that their attention remains focused on their instructor. ADAPTIVE SWIM LESSONS Adaptive Aquatics classes are geared for children with special needs between 2-12 years of age & adolescents/adults ages 13 and older. This program focuses on water safety, self-confidence, and other physical developmental skills. With the assistance of aquatics staff, participants work on their swimming abilities and comfort level in the water. These classes are taught in a non-competitive environment, allowing each child to progress at their own pace. In addition to requiring a caregiver in the water & present at each lesson, our program will provide an Adaptive Aide present at each class to help individualize the group swim lesson experience. For more information or to register, please contact Sidney Zarate Sanchez at 614.410.4597 or szaratesanchez@dublin.oh.us.
