Mexican convert, never having attend­ ed a Protestant service, nor heard an evangelical sermon, was inspired to make a thank offering to Jehovah be­ cause h was permitted to have the Word of God. So he sent us a candle made of beeswax, about a yard long, and two inches thick, which he desired us to offer to Jehovah for him. Of course he was ignorant as to just what the Scriptures say, but his offering was prompted out- of gratitude to our God. We had asked him in a letter to tell us how he came to write to the Bible Institute, and he said that when he passed through San Francisco last spring a tract was handed him with the address of the Institute on it, and be­ ing anxious to know more about the way of Salvation, he wrote to us. him. In our next letter we gave him some further instructions, enclosed a decision card for him to sign. In his reply he not only sent his decision card accepting Christ, but what was more, he sent a separate sheet on which he signed his name in his own blood as a proof of his honor and sincerity in having accepted Christ as his Saviour. Since then we have continued corres­ ponding-and in every letter he sends he always has a note of thanksgiving to God and His servant for bringing him into the knowledge of the truth. Mexican Converts Are Real. In a recent letter he made a request that we send him a hymn-book, because he wanted to sing his praise to Jeho­ vah, “ for,” said he, “ I do not want to offend the Lord with other things.” In nearly every letter he asked if the im­ ages of saints were not the strange gods that God forbids us to worship. He had told his wife so, but she said that she believed in God and the saints, for that was what her parents had taught her to believe. Recently this
