984 see what kind of a nut it is on the in side. Ah here is a good kernel, a nice fat one, even though on the outside it did not look very good. Boys and girls, which kind of a nut would you like best to eat? The one with the fat kernel. You have been so quiet and watched me so closely, here is a nice fat kernel for each one. Now these are the kind of nuts we would like them all to be, wouldn’t we? Prayer. Besson Story.—Do you know when Jesus lived down here on earth He preached to the people, sometimes in the church and sometimes they would gather about Him out of doors, and to day we are going to hear about one time when great crowds were following Jesus, and He went up into a mountain and sat down, and His disciples came and gathered about Him, and then what do you think, Jesus preached them a little sermon, and how many of you would like to have me tell you some of the things Jesus told the disciples that day? It was such a wonderful sermon, for it told them how to be happy, and I am sure we all want to be happy, don’t we?' Now We just know how well the disciples and the other people who were there that day listened to every word Jesus said, as they sat together on the moun tains where everything was so beau tiful and quiet. Jesus told them just what kind of people He wanted each one of them to be, and you know when people are the kind of people Jesus wants them to -be, they will be happy, too. Jesus told them He wished them to be kind to all people, even to those who are not kind to us. If a boy or girl hurts us, we are to be kind to them and treat them gently. If we are kind and merciful to others, Jesus says we are blessed, which means happy, be cause we are being the kind of boys and girls He would have us to be. Of course we can not be the kind of boys and girls Jesus wishes us to be by just

THE K I N G ' S BUS I NE S S trying ourselves, but we must have Jesus as our Saviour to help Us, because when some one hurts us we want to strike back and hurt them, too, and we just must ask Jesus to help us every day. When Jesus lived down here wicked men treated Him cruelly and talked ugly to Him, but He bore it patiently and treated them kindly, so He knows just how it hurts to be treated meanly by others, and He wants to help us, and He will if we ask Him to. Just hear what He told them: “ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” That is, we are happy if our hearts are pure. Clara, do you think we can tell what kind of hearts people have by just looking at them? No, we can not, for they, like the walnut, may look nice and yet have a wicked heart, so you see the walnut preached us a sermon, showing that if the heart is wrong, then all is wrong. If we give ourselves fully to Jesus and trust Him, He will take the wrong out of our hearts and fill them with His love, and in this way we can be pure in heart, for it is only those who are pure in heart that can see God. Then Jesus told them if their hearts were pure, they would be peacemakers, that is those who would not quarrel them selves, and would try to keep others from quarreling. He said those who were peacemakers, were truly children of God and were happy. Who are the only ones who can see God? Yes, those who are pure in heart, and Jesus says if Ve are pure in heart we will be happy. What a wonderful sermon He preached to them on that day up in the mountains. Let us say over again those wonderful words, “ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Closing Prayer.—Dear Lord Jesus help us to be the kind of boys and girls we should be with pure hearts.
