October issue

OCTOBER 23RD

10-12PM LOCATION: TRAP POND, LAUREL DE

This event is named after Lainey Mitchell, who died in utero at 34 weeks gestation. Unfortunately, many other families have experienced the awful tragedy of losing a child. In fact, 23,500 babies are stillborn each year in the United States. Prevention methods and education are desperately needed. On Sunday, October 23rd, please join us to celebrate the lives of babies gone too soon. You can register as an individual, create a team (many teams are in honor of a baby), or join a team. You can also register to volunteer at the event. The schedule on October 23rd is: 9:30-10:30 Check in 10:30 Welcome including reading of baby names 11:00 5k Run or Walk

This event benefits Count the Kicks, a stillbirth prevention campaign that educates expectant parents about the importance of tracking baby movements to prevent stillbirth. Research shows that a change in movement is sometimes the only indication that a baby is in distress. This is an evidence based solution that is saving babies NOW!. Count the Kicks is saving 1 in 3 at risk babies in Iowa, where the campaign began. We want to see that happen across the country so 7,500 babies can have a Healthy Birthday!
