Breed Association EPDS (Expected Progeny Differences) are listed for all registered animals. Leachman ABCS (Across Breed Comparisons) are listed for all un-registered animals. All ABCs are on an Angus base and can be compared across all bulls in this catalog .

Reg. # : The breed association number of the animal. Nt.Reg means the animal is not registered. Color : BBK= Homozygous Black; BRC= Heterozygous Black. PP = Homozygous Polled; PH =Heterozygous Polled CED =Calving Ease Direct. Expressed as a difference in percentage of unassisted births, with a higher value indicating greater calving ease in first-calf heifers. It predicts the average difference in ease with which a sire’s calves will be born when he is bred to first-calf heifers. ACT BW =Actual birth weight ADJ WW =205 day adjusted weaning weight. BW =Birth Weight EPD/ABC are expressed in pounds and predict genetic differences in the average birth weight of future progeny, as compare to other animals in the evaluation. WW =Weaning Weight EPD/ABC are in units of pounds and predict genetic differences in the average adjusted 205-day weaning weight of future progeny, as compared to other animals in the evaluation. YW =Yearling Weight EPD/ABC are in units of pounds and predict genetic differences in the average adjusted 365-day yearling weight of future progeny, as compared to other animals in the evaluation. Milk =This is the best predictor of a bull's daughter's ability to milk. It measures the difference in weaning weight that will be produced between one bull's daughter and another bull's daughter due solely to milk. Doc =Docility, expressed as a difference in yearling cattle temperament, with a higher value indicating more favorable docility. SC =Expressed in centimeters, predicting the yearling scrotal circumference of a sire's progeny, compared to that of other sires. CW =Carcass weight, expressed in pounds, is a predictor of the differences in hot carcass weight of a sire’s MARB =Expressed as a fraction of the difference in USDA marbling score of a sire's progeny compared to progeny of other sires. REA/RE =Expressed in square inches; is a predictor of the difference in ribeye area of a sire's progeny compared to progeny of other sires. PAP =EPD is expressed in units of millimeters of Mercury and predicts genetic differences in the average blood pressure of future progeny, as compared to other animals in the evaluation. $M =Maternal Weaned Calf Value, expressed in dollars per head, predicts profitability differences in progeny due to genetics from conception to weaning by decreasing mature cow size and improving docility, foot structure and fertility while maintaining weaning weights consistent with today’s production. $W =Weaned Calf Value, expressed in dollars per head, provides the expected difference in future progeny pre- weaning performance from birth to weaning. $C =Combined Value, expressed in dollars per head, which includes all traits that make up both $M & $B with the objective that commercial producers will replace 20%of their breeding females per year with replacement heifers retained within their own herd. The remaining cull heifer & steer progeny are then assumed to be sent to the feedlot where the producers retain ownership of those cattle & sell them on a quality-based merit grid. $Ranch =Profit from birth through weaning. Includes: Fertility, Milk, Growth Cow feed intake and mature size $Feeder = Profit from weaning to harvest. Includes: Feed conversion Carcass value Carcass weight

$Profit =Puts it all together. $Ranch + $Feeder. One number that predicts your bottom line!
