The aim of this lesson is for the participants to apply Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue Initial Training methods and techniques as a single rescuer in a realistic hub or blade rescue scenario, including assessment of organisational conditions, selection of rescue strategy and execution of the rescue operation.
After successfully completing this lesson, the participants can:
66) Discuss how site emergency response plans and rescue preparations (from their own organisation or a typical offshore employer) affect the feasibility and limitations of single rescuer operations in the hub, spinner and inside a blade (Knowledge, intermediate level ).Assess and determine an appropriate single rescuer rescue strategy (rescue method, technique, certified equipment, organisation of the incident scene) for a given hub or blade scenario ( Ability , intermediate level). 67) Perform a descending single rescuer rescue operation from a hub or from inside a blade to a primary or secondary assembly area using a rescue stretcher or transfer board and a manually operated lowering/raising rescue system, while maintaining control of the inju red person and their own fall protection (Skills, intermediate level). 68) Demonstrate clear communication and scene management as a single rescuer, including communication with off -site support (e.g. vessel, site lead, EMT) according to local procedures (Skills, intermediate level).
69) Reflect on how the single rescuer exercise relates to their own WTG layout, equipment, and internal rules for working in two -person teams (Ability, intermediate level).
ELEMENT 8.1 - SINGLE RESCUER RESCUE STRATEGY IN OWN ORGANISATION
Learning objectives:
70) The participants can explain the term single rescuer advanced rescue operation and give examples of situations in which it may occur in their own work (Knowledge, intermediate level)
71) The participants can explain which single -rescuer -related rescue preparations, approvals, communication and command procedures apply in their own organisation, including expected time to external emergency response (Knowledge, intermediate level) 72) The participants can assess , for a given scenario (e.g. injured person in blade, rescuer in hub), whether a single rescuer operation is acceptable within their organisational limits, and when the situation requires additional personnel or external resources ( Knowledge , advanced level)
