In many ways, our partnership with the libraries is a perfect match. In a conversation with Paul Ericsson, Western Branches Manager with the Carver County Library, Paul shares what he appreciates about our work together, “One of our broader strategic goals is to increase participation with community partners... You're bringing skill sets and opportunities that we may not be able to take on.” As institutions committed to engaging learners with media, TPT and libraries both understand the unique challenges that students face during the summer and how summer programs can help meet these challenges. Paul shares, “Some of these kids are out of school by the end of May or first week of June. They go all the way into August and early September without having meaningful engagement. We think that we provide a good balance and range of options for families to participate.” In addition to being a fun opportunity for participants to play, these events also supplement the breadth of programming that libraries put on to combat the summer slide and to keep kids excited about learning all year long.
So, if you’re looking for a fun and educational way to spend a day at the library, stop by and say hi at any of our events. We’ll be here all summer!
