WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
PREVENTIVE HEALTH SCREENINGS In recognition of Women’s History Month, we are highlighting important preventive health screenings and maternal mental health resources available through your benefits plan. Preventive care plays a critical role in early detection, long-term health, and overall wellbeing. Cervical Cancer Screenings (Pap Test & HPV Testing) Cervical screenings help detect abnormal cells early, before they develop into cancer. Guidelines generally recommend screening starting at age 21, with frequency depending on age and medical guidance. Under most ACA-compliant plans, in-network preventive cervical screenings are covered at 100%. Mammograms (Breast Cancer Screening) Mammograms are X-ray screenings used to detect breast cancer early. Screening recommendations vary by age and risk factors, but many guidelines suggest routine screening beginning at age 40. Most health plans cover preventive mammograms at 100% when using in-network providers. Maternal Mental Health Maternal mental health includes emotional wellbeing during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Conditions such as postpartum depression and anxiety are common and treatable. Many plans provide access to mental health providers, counseling services, and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). If you or a family member need support, confidential resources are available. We encourage employees to review preventive care coverage details in the benefits portal (ADP) , schedule recommended screenings, and utilize available mental health resources as needed.
