Migena Molla, Michelle Kim, Nhi Le, Tamanna Sachdev PARSONS THE NEW SCHOOL OF DESIGN Second chances embodies hope and the human capacity for growth, redemption, and transformation, which allow us to break free from our past and create a better future for ourselves and those around us. The “SECOND + CHANCES” project brings this idea to life by repurposing discarded wood and pipes sourced throughout the city to create a community-driven installation.

NEW YORK SCHOOL OF INTERIOR DESIGN We must use what we have learned from past devastating events during the AIDS crisis to take a leadership role in preventing future devastation by climate change. As members of the design community, we have an obligation to use technology and sway social behavior to help combat climate change. By looking at the way technology (pharmaceutical in the case of AIDS) was used along with changes in social behavior, we can lead by example through technology relevant to climate change and developing new social behaviors to avert a different, yet just as important, crisis.
