12. NACELLE, TOWER AND BASEMENT RESCUE
-REFRESHER
TRAINING
12.1 Aims and Objectives for th e Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue Refresher Training The aim of this module is to enable participants, through theoretical and practical training, to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills from the Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue Initial Training as well as the BST Working at Heights and Manual Handling Modules to enable the course participants to perform injured person rescue operations in a WTG nacelle, tower, and basement, by using industry standard rescue equipment, methods, and techniques.
Overall learning objective:
After having successfully complete d this Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue Refresher
Training , the
participants can:
1) Act independently to carry out safe nacelle, tower and basement rescues organisational procedures, single rescuer advanced rescue operations
(including, where required by
) and take responsibility for the correct order of management in an emergency situation in a wind turbine generator (WTG) environment (Ability, intermediate level)
The participants will show signs of:
6. acknowledging the benefits of having a coordinator in a rescue team, and the responsibility that comes with it
7. taking part in discussing which advanced rescue preparations, and emergency and communication procedures, apply in their own organisation
8. committing themselves to avoid incidents from where they may be exposed to a rescue operation
9.
committing themselves to act out this value by demonstrating a pro
active approach and role model
behaviour
12.2 Duration of the Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue Refresher Training
The total contact time for completing the Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue Refresher Training is set to be 7 hours and 30 minutes (equivalent to approximately 1 training day). This shall be reflected in the module timetable .
The training provider must not exceed the time per day given in the table 1
2.2.1 below.
