ANNEX 1 - EQUIPMENT LIST
The following pages specify the equipment required to deliver each module in alignment with this training standard. All equipment shall meet the criteria defined in the GWO Requirements for Training and is intended for use in physical training settings to support safe and effective learning and assessment.
All instructors must be correctly trained to use and teach all equipment.
1.
rescue stretcher
a. at least two different products

transfer board
a. product is required to have an attachment point rigged at the top and bottom. This can be achieved by attaching or choking an anchor sling through the handles of the foot or top of the transfer board with a connector attached, for horizontal or manually as
sisted transfer in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions for use.
A transfer board is not to be used for immobilisation and is not a lifting device. It shall not be used for vertical lifting or lowering of an injured person unless the device is specifically designed and approved for that purpose in the manufacturer’s instr uctions for use. Whenever possible, any vertical movement or lowering of the injured person shall be carried out using an approved rescue stretcher or other rated lifting device in a horizontal configuration

cervical collar for rescue purpose
The use of a cervical collar during rescue operations in this standard is intended only to support the head and as a result help in maintaining an open airway of an unconscious injured person during parts of rescue operations where this is not possible by other means. It is intended that the collar is removed as soon as it is possible to suppor t the head and maintain the airway by other means. The use of collars in this instance is not considered as routine. For further information please refer to Annex 3.
