The participants shall:
ELEMENT 8.2 - SINGLE RESCUER
HUB SPINNER & INSIDE BLADE RESCUE PRACTICAL EXERCISE
Learning objectives:
74) The participants can perform a rapid scene assessment and hazard identification in a hub/blade single rescuer scenario, considering hazardous energies, dropped objects, manual handling, lighting and confined space risks (Skills, intermediate level) 75) The participants can perform package an injured person correctly (including head support, harnessing and use of stretcher/transfer board) using methods learned in earlier ART Hub, Spinner & Inside Blade Rescue Initial Training lessons, while working as a single rescuer (Skills, intermediate level) 76) The participants can perform and rig and operate the chosen lowering/raising rescue system so it can be safely managed by one rescuer, including management of their own fall protection and the injured person’s fall protection (Skills, intermediate level) 77) The participants can perform a controlled descent or movement of the injured person to the agreed assembly point (ground, transition piece or vessel), performing regular checks on the injured person during the entire rescue operation (Skills, intermediate level) 78) The participants can perform clear and precise communication with simulated remote support (e.g. site lead, vessel, EMT) throughout the operation and coordinate an effective handover of the injured person (Skills, intermediate level) 79) The participants can describe , after the exercise, where fatigue, stress or technical difficulty affected their performance and how this would influence their decision to continue, modify or abort a real single rescuer operation ( Knowledge , basic level)
The instructor shall:
a.
Use a rescue dummy if possible.
b. One participant at a time performs as single rescuer; others observe with a clear observation task (e.g. manual -handling risk, communication, anchor strategy).
