cation of thy servant, and of thy people Is­ rael, when they shall pray toward' (this place; and hear thou in heaven thy dwell­ ing place: And when thou hearest, forgive.”, Solomon took it for granted that Israel would be continually falling into sin (cf. vs. 34, 36, 39, 43, 49). This proved historically to be the fact, but no matter how'often they sinned, forgiveness was always ready. Sol­ omon believed that heaven was God’s dwell­ ing place. Our Lord Jesus believed, and taught the same thing (Matt. 6:9). God is everywhere, but there is a place in which He manifests Himself as nowhere else, and that place is “heaven.” OUTLINE. PRACTICAL POINTS. (1) What David prepared for Solomon per­ fected. (2) IJe plead the promises of God. So should we. (3) Confession of sin is a condition of forgiveness. (4) Isriel was the inheritance of God. (5) The best of all is, God is with us. (6) What God speaks with His mouth will be fulfilled with His hand.

Today it is the prayer that is made in Him of Whom the temple was a type, i. e., our Lord Jesus, that God hearkens to (Jno. 14: 13, 14). His eyes are ever toward Him, and He is ever ready to answer the prayer that goes up in His name.
