Broth for Body and Soul Mmm-mmm – bone broth is delicious and deeply nourishing, providing high levels of protein and gut-friendly ingredients.

Bone broth is one of the most nutrient-rich foods on the planet. It is also one of the oldest, first appearing in traditional Chinese medical extracts as a tonic to strengthen kidney function. Bone broth is high in protein, zinc, collagen, and the B-group vitamins, and will benefit digestive health as well as support immunity, build muscle and bone and play a role in weight management. A family affair Mark and Darlene Powell started the Nutra Organics company in 1998, sitting at the kitchen table in their home. Their passion for wholefoods came from their heart and soul – their family. Their aim was to create products that tasted fantastic, were easy to incorporate in everyday busy life, and provided real health benefits. Only when we are bouncing off the walls with confidence and excitement about a product’s flavour, quality, and efficacy, do we bring it to the market.” Broth versus stock What is the difference between the two? Quite a lot, as it turns out. Nutra Organics bone broth concentrates and powders provide a more nutritious alternative to conventional stocks. This is because the chicken or beef bones are slow cooked for 24 hours in filtered water and apple cider vinegar, which maximises nutrient extraction. The resulting broth is strained for impurities and the fat is skimmed off the top. Store-bought stock, on the other hand, is not slow cooked and can contain fillers, sugar, glucose, colours and preservatives. Commercial stock may be made from bones and vegetables, or from meat alone – check the labels, because ‘broth’ and ‘bone broth’ are quite different. Good quality bone broth contains

gelatin to support healthy digestion, making it very valuable for anyone with leaky gut syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory digestive conditions. The Nutra Organics team believes in real nutrition that delivers real results and tastes delicious. Over the last 25 years, what they have built is a true celebration of community, quality, and nourishment.
