Streetscape History and Art Advisory Committee

The City of Auburn provides amazing opportunities to honor and celebrate many of the individuals who have made a positive and significant impact on the Auburn Community. The Auburn Streetscape Project is one of those opportunities and we are so excited to see the placement of a tile for Dr. John F. Engle who served as Placer High School Principal from 1906 to 1936. He was instrumental in establishing academic programs, athletics and the expansion of the buildings seen on campus today. He also established “Placer” College...now known as Sierra College.

Dr. Engle’s tile will be placed in the area in front of Tango’s Frozen Yogurt in November. Be sure to stop by and check it out!
