Specialty crops have the potential to play a crucial role in addressing our climate challenges. At Carbon Friendly, we believe that regenerative farmers are the true carbon heroes, deserving recognition and rewards for their pivotal role in creating a climate-friendly food supply chain. This belief is at the heart of our mission and passion. Our team comprises environmental and agricultural scientists along with carbon accounting specialists and brings extensive experience to the table, having conducted over 900 greenhouse gas (GHG) assessments for crops and farms globally. We collaborate closely with farmers to accurately quantify their carbon footprint reductions, enabling them to be recognized and rewarded in the marketplace and gain additional income from carbon credits. As we like to say, “Sustainability must pay to be sustainable.” Our carbon methodologies adhere to the highest global integrity standards, ensuring that farmers can effortlessly integrate into our well-established carbon group structures. We are very pleased to announce that we’ve added to our EcoGrow Naturals team a long-term fertilizer advisor to the California grower community. Phil Frost brings more than a decade of agronomic research, balanced by 25 years of hands-on farming experience. This unique combination enables enhanced agricultural productivity and sustainability by providing valuable insights into crop performance, soil health and practical innovative farming practices. He will be continuing to focus on specialty crops in the Central Valley/Central Coast, as well as Arizona and Colorado. farm-ng introduced the next generation of the Amiga at FIRA, featuring enhanced power and greater payload capacity to meet the evolving demands of modern agriculture. It is equipped with larger wheels, 4-wheel drive and steering, and a number of increased safety features, which provide customers with upgraded maneuverability and terrain adaptability. Capable of lifting up to 1000 pounds, hauling up to 2000 pounds and a towing capacity of up to 5000 pounds, it’s designed to handle applications that require greater power and payload capacity. At the Salinas Biologicals Summit, farm-ng debuted the new Amiga Bug Spreader application, which dispenses beneficial insects over crops, offering effective pest control without the need for chemicals. In strawberry fields, where spider mites are increasingly resistant to pesticides and reducing crop yields, the Amiga covers an acre in under 20 minutes, applying bugs three rows at a time, and generates a heat map report with precise data on bug distribution.
