CYBER SECURITY JOBS NEWS ROUNDUP
Alert issued over Iranian state-backed cyber actors A joint advisory has been issued by the UK and US to instruct those at high risk of phishing attacks to take extra precautions in light of attackers working on behalf of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. They are using social engineering in a bid to gain access to the online accounts of victims. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) – a part of GCHQ - is encouraging individuals to sign up for its cyber defence services. The malicious activity has been targeted at current and former senior government officials, senior think tank personnel, journalists, activists and lobbyists with a link to the Middle East. Paul Chichester, director of operations at the NCSC, said: “With our allies, we will continue to call out this malicious activity, which puts individuals’ personal and business accounts at risk, so they can take action to reduce their chances of falling victim.”
