The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series kicks off this weekend in the Lone Star State. For the second consecutive year, Allen Texas, and the Credit Union of Texas Event Center will play host to this prestigious international skating competition. Many of the top skaters in the United States and internationally are here to compete for coveted medals, Series points and prize money. The top six skaters/teams at the conclusion of the Series (based on points) qualify for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Grenoble, France, Dec. 5-8. The four disciplines taking center ice — women, men, pairs and ice dance — are sure to delight with exquisite skating and breathtaking moves on full display. U.S. and World champions Ilia Malinin and the ice dance team of Madison Chock and Evan Bates highlight the event’s roster, along with U.S. World silver medalist Isabeau Levito and U.S. pairs champions Ellie Kam and Danny O’Shea. The international field features the likes of the World pairs silver medalists Riku Miura and Ryuichi of Japan and Hungary’s Maria Pavlova and Alexei Sviatchenko, who placed fourth in pairs at the 2024 World Championships. Also in the field are Japanese standouts Kao Miura and Rinka Watanabe. The Skating Spectacular wraps up the event on Sunday night, with a collection of fun and entertaining show programs. Enjoy!
