City Councillor Jeff Kohler by Peri Hayes City Councillor, Jeff Kohler, was introduced to politics at a young age. With his uncle involved on a provincial level, the dedicated Jeff recounts, “This had me paying attention to what was going on, and inspired my involvement in this community.” Jeff has been active in politics since ‘97, proudly becoming the Mayor of St. Thomas in 2003 and nourishing his ongoing participation on City Council to the present day. “My dad taught me that if you have an opinion and are willing to share it, then you should do something about it,” Jeff reminisces. “With this in mind, rather than sit on the sidelines, I decided to throw my hat into the ring and see what I could do to help.” As Jeff expresses about the local community, “I was raised here, and I love St. Thomas. While not Council appointed, Jeff is also involved with the Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin.
