BIBLE INSTITUTE HAPPENINGS (Continued from page 79) Hazel W. Long, ’23 (In land South America Missionary Union), is located a t Bananal, M iranda, Matto Grosso, Brazil. “My Portuguese comes slow ly,, b u t Mr. W hittington patiently gives me a lesson each day, and while I can not speak at the meetings yet, I often play for them , and w ith th e . school work each day (where I manage to make myself understood), and w ith ou r housekeeping and my study of th e language I find my tim e well taken up.................It is springtim e here now and it is surely beautiful. Huge trees bu rst into blooms of purple, pink and yellow, and white, and many little flowers are coming up. The birds are beyond description; th e colors are beautiful, and many kinds, b u t only one sc-ng bird th a t I have heard. They make a noise, bu t no song. They are like some of these people-—‘they have no song’.” Married G. H. B raun, ’22, and Miss E lsa Blakeley, ’22, August 24th. Eugene, Oregon. Miss M adg e.H enry, ’23, and W. J. We have also had w ith us Mrs. F ord L. Canfield, who graduated from B. I. in 1918, and has been working a t Hung- tung, Shansi, China, under the C.I.M., and Miss Besse Anderson of Toronto, Canada, F ield Secretary of the Cana dian B ranch of th e I.S.A.M.U., who gave a stirrin g call for workers for the open field of Inland South Amer ica, in many p arts of which th e story of Jesus has never yet been told. Dr. F ra n k A. K eller of th e Hunan Bible In stitu te, Changsha, China, recently from the field, told of the smarting of th a t g reat work, and of the Lord’s dealings in .those early years.
