have several scholarships opportunities available for brothers ranging across multiple fields of study.”
Grand Board Member Bryce T. Dick- erson stated, “In the past two years, I have witnessed the toll that COVID-19 has taken on different communities and brothers all. I extend my thoughts and prayers to those who have been affected during this period. Although times may seem unfamiliar and uncer- tain, it is key that we continue to prac- tice the ideologies that were taught during our initiation in this Bond. As Kappa Men we must remain stead- fast to the principles and concepts of brotherhood. We must support one another as we continually strive for greatness.” Activities included partnerships with Good Health Wins, which allowed chapters to earn grants for education throughout their respective communi- ties.
Social Media Engagement
The use of social media was ubiq- uitous and highly effective. Un- dergraduates were also involved in the development of the 2021-2025 Strategic Planning process being led by Senior Grand Vice Polemarch Jimmy McMikle. Those efforts are continuing to bear fruit today. As the undergraduates look to gradu- ation and the future Grand Board Member Khalis Hicks stated,“My hope is that we can learn from adversity and utilize that knowledge to propel us forward. As we continue to be challenged we must remember that hardships come and go and we must stay the course to our goal.” Sound advice for us all.
Emphasis on Mental Health Awareness
An emphasis on mental health aware- ness was a key focus. Understand- ing that undergraduates the world over were having to balance virtual learning and various stressors, the undergraduate Grand Chapter Of- ficers placed an emphasis on “Mental Health is Wealth: the Currency of Mental Health.” Undergraduate lead- ers shared their stories in partnership with leading mental health profession- als serving on panels throughout the Fraternity.
