Probus Club of London meets in Byron After several years as a men’s club, the Probus Club of London has now opened membership to both women and men from London and surrounding areas. The purpose of the Club is to provide regular gatherings and activities for retired and semi- retired men and women. Probus Clubs are non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit- making and non-fundraising. Our purpose is to provide fellowship and make new acquaintances, free from the constraints and obligations of service clubs. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 am at the Byron United Church, at the corner of Baseline and Boler Roads in Byron. New members and guests are welcome to join us. Meetings are comprised of socialization followed by a guest speaker, a coffee break, and then a brief business meeting. In addition, members are encouraged to form smaller interest groups, such as book clubs, bridge, golf, dine-in and dine-out, and theatre outings, to name a few. Attendance at meetings is en- tirely voluntary. Annual dues are quite reasonable. There are approximately 250 Probus clubs in Canada with roughly 40,000 members. Until 2023, clubs were either men- only, women-only, or combined (men and women), and in 2023, Probus Canada de-cided that all future clubs must be combined. The Probus Club of London recognized that a club open to both men and women offered more opportunities than remaining a men-only club and voted to make the change effective

November 1, 2025. The first meeting of the new “combined” club format was held on November 12th and several women joined the Club at that meeting. Free parking and easy access into the building through the door off the parking lot on the east side of the Church. For more information, contact Peter Seguin, President.
