Meet our founder Ali founded MediStitch with the idea that every medical student should be able to practice suturing at home. He was a medical student himself when he came up with MediStitch. ‘’The idea that we had to suture people without having practiced properly was unacceptable to me. Why wasn’t there an affordable and realistic simulator? I decided to take matters into my own hands.’’ Ali Zamani MD – Founder Medistitch is a young company. After I had my first suturing lesson at the Catholic University of Leuven, I didn’t feel ready to practice suturing in practice. I looked for a solution to be able to practice at home at my leisure. Unfortuna - tely, the range was disappointing, you can’t even practice intradermal sutures on most existing suture sets and the prices were absurdly high. I decided to design a suture set myself to be able to address all the points. After many different versions and reviews by multiple surgeons, this led to the MediStitch suture set. The reactions were great! This gave me the motivation to make the suture kit available to every student. After approval by various professors, our suture kit has now also been made available for the suture lessons at KU Leuven.
